Kafsky puts up another double-double to lead TFS girls into Elite 8

The #9-ranked Lady Indians took a hard-fought 54-49 win at Bulloch Academy on Tuesday night in the first round of the GIAA Class 4A State Tournament.

The win pushes TFS to the Elite 8, as the girls outpaced the Lady Gators in all but one quarter. After taking a 15-11 first quarter lead courtesy of eight points by Breelyn Wood, Tallulah Falls pushed that to 29-23 going into the break. Kafsky added six points in the second.

In the third, Bulloch battled back to within four points, trailing just 37-33. Kafsky had six and Wood five in the final quarter to secure the playoff win. Wood led all scorers with 18, while Kafsky had 15.

Millie Holcomb had eight, both Haygen James and Marian Nino added five apiece, and Asia Molodynska finished with three. The Lady Indians are now 9-15 on the season.
