Julian Alfonso Gissendanner

obit flagJulian Alfonso Gissendanner, 90, of Clarkesville passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning November 4, 2016.  He talked and laughed his way into the gates of heaven surrounded by his family, never losing his spirit.

Julian was born May 7, 1926 in Ty Ty, Georgia.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and sacrificed for the country he loved in WWII. In 1950 he graduated from The University of Georgia.

Those left to treasure his many memories include his wife Elise “Pomy”, children Al (Wanda) and Candice. Julian was so proud of his Grandchildren Brandi (John), Heather (Jake) and Joe (Theresa).  Then he was blessed with Great Grandchildren Kendall, Johnna, Cody, Justin, Halley, Layla, Maddox and Bennett.   And amazingly lived on to happily love his great grandbabies Waylon and Adaline.

He leaves behind a true legacy of love for his family. Julian was a man who was strong in his faith and lived his life accordingly.  He had a huge heart and could tell the best stories. He loved with his whole heart and had a presence that could make anyone feel welcome. He will be dearly missed.  The world is a better place to have been blessed with his presence for 90 years.

A celebration of his long amazingly life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday November 6 at Clarkesville Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the hospice ladies at Halcyon for their tender love and care not only of our Pop but also of us during this difficult time.  You made the transition to life without him a little more bearable.

They appreciate your loving support and in lieu of flowers requests you make a donation to ECHO, a non-profit committed to promoting sustainable farming techniques to Rural Farmers.  ECHO 17391 Durrance Road, N Fort Myers FL 33917  www.echonet.org
