Judy Elaine Ward Reddish, age 74, of Demorest, Georgia, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, with her family by her side.
Mrs. Reddish was born on May 27, 1950 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Clyde and Ruth Deamie Parson Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelia Elaine Reddish; brother, Wayne Allen Ward.
For a decade, Judy served as the manager of Dollar General on the square in Clarkesville. She had worked for many years as a caregiver with Tugaloo Home Health. Judy’s unwavering faith was at the center of her life. As a devoted Christian who had a deep love for her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, she sang in the choir and poured her heart into loving and uplifting those around her. Whether through prayers, words of encouragement, or her dedicated service with Meals on Wheels, Judy exemplified what it means to care for others. Above all, Judy will be cherished as a precious wife, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, fondly known as “Nana.”
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Jerry Reddish, of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Becky Reddish, of Eastanollee; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tony Pruitt, of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Danielle Bradberry and her husband, Chris; Andrew Reddish and his wife, Hope; Emily Pruitt, Erica Pruitt, Ethan Pruitt and his spouse, Olivia; great-grandchildren, Jackson Reddish, Clyde Reddish, and Abigail Bradberry; brothers, Dale Ward, of Homer; Ronnie Ward, of Alto; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Cindy Ward, of Alto; sisters-in-law, Kay Ward, of Alto; Barbara Ward, of Clarkesville; Thelma Talley, of Gainesville, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and an uncle.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest, with Dr. Josh Taylor and Dr. Charles Holland officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.
Mrs. Reddish will lie in state from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2024 at the funeral home for those wishing to pay their respects.
