Grammy Award Nominee John Burke will be performing a piano concert on Friday, July 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Habersham Community Theater in downtown Clarkesville.
The 28-year-old Habersham Central High School graduate’s self-composed album “Orogen”, was nominated for the 59th Annual Grammy Award for “Best New Age Album.”
Burke has performed in multiple venues nationally, and has composed music for both screen and stage. Since 2011, he has composed several nationally acclaimed solo piano albums. He has performed as a soloist, for weddings, with choirs, and in diverse musical events which have included jazz and other musical performance styles. A pianist known for his innovation, he has been described as a “high energy” performer with “an engaging smile.” Videos of a number of his piano compositions and performances may be seen on his Web site, www.johnburkemusic.com.
Now a resident of Atlanta, Burke also shares on his Web site that he is very happily engaged, and that – in addition – he “adores his Toyota Prius.”
