Joan M. Feorino, 91, of Clarkesville, GA, a devoted wife and mother, died June 26 at home with her beloved family.
Joan was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Ahearn. She graduated from Brooklyn Girls High School. At age 17 she became a secretary at a legal firm in N.Y. When she was 19, she met Paul M. Feorino on a blind date. The two married on April 28, 1951, in New York and marked 71 years of steadfast love shortly before her death.
They left friends and family behind in 1957 to move to Georgia where Paul took a position at the then Center for Disease Control. They lived in Decatur, GA, where two more girls joined the family. Later they relocated to Doraville, GA, and then to Clarkesville, GA.
Joan was an avid news consumer, a lover of novels, and a fan of classical music and art. She enjoyed trips with Paul to visit other countries and to visit daughters living in different parts of the country and vacation with granddaughters. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by daughter Marilyn Feorino of San Francisco, CA
She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul; daughters Patricia Nodine and her husband, Doug, of Franklin, NC; Theresa Feorino of Sacramento, CA; Marianne Rutan and her husband, John, of Good Hope, GA, Lucille Feorino and her husband, Jerrey Roberts, of Westfield, MA; Diane Feorino and her husband, Bob Lampley, of Clarkesville; son-in-law Randy McMullen of San Francisco; granddaughters Sara Nodine, of Lawrenceville, GA; Rachel Nodine and her husband, Jeromy Risner, of Rome, GA; Elizabeth Rutan-Ram and her husband Gabriel Rutan-Ram, and their foster daughter Alyssa Milam of Knoxville, TN, and several nieces and nephews and their spouses.

A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Gardens Cemetery, Clarkesville.
