Funeral services for Jerel Phillip McClain, age 70, of Clarkesville will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Connie Berry will officiate with interment to follow the service in Hillside Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hillside Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 6-8 PM.
Mr. McClain passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born on November 24, 1946 in Habersham County, Mr. McClain was the son of the late Harold McClain and Ruby Wooten McClain. Mr. McClain was employed by Fieldale Farms where he worked in the truck shop and he attended Stonepile Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his first wife Gwendelyn Chamblee McClain.
Survivors include his wife Tina A. McClain of Clarkesville, daughter Lynn Rich (Ryan) of Buford, son Donnie McClain (Carol) of Clarkesville, mother Ruby Wooten McClain of Clarkesville, sisters Janice Rogers of Hiawassee, Joan Key of Clarkesville, and June Waters of Clarkesville, brothers James McClain of Dahlonega and Jerry McClain of Elberton, grandsons McClain, Ryan, and Rhett, and great grandson Wyatt.
