Jeep torched in Habersham, investigators offer reward

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a Habersham County vehicle arson case.

Investigators say the 2019 black Jeep Compass was found burning at 171 Frank Lovell Road near Clarkesville shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday.

The vehicle was for sale. The day before the fire, it was parked on the side of the road at 1920 Hollywood Highway in Clarkesville, according to state fire commissioner John King

Investigators are asking for the public’s help to find who did it.

They ask anyone with information about the fire to call the Fire Investigations Unit at 1-800-282-5804. Calls are taken 24 hours a day and callers may remain anonymous.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting Habersham County Emergency Services with the investigation.
