Jaybo Shaw has been named the new head coach for the Dawson County Tigers. He leaves Greenville (SC) after his lone season there but brings a robust resume to Dawsonville.
Shaw has been a head coach since 2019, when taking over the Rabun County program, guiding the Wildcats to a 35-5 record over 3 seasons with Gunner Stockton at QB. The offenses averaged 45.8 points per game in that span, and the Cats went to the Quarterfinals or further each time, including a Semifinals run in 2020. All those teams won the region title as well.
After leaving following the 2021 season for Wayne County, Shaw went 17-7 in his two seasons there, guiding the Yellow Jackets to a Quarterfinal in the first year and another playoff run after that. He then skipped over to Greenville (SC), registering a 2-9 mark in his lone season in 2024 but getting the team to the state playoffs.
In total, Shaw has a 54-21 mark in 6 seasons, all of which reached the playoffs. He takes over Dawson County following Sid Maxwell’s 10 years over the Tigers’ program.
