STATESBORO, Ga. – Piedmont head women’s basketball coach Jamie Purdy added yet another accolade to her decorated career as she was inducted into the 2024 Statesboro Athletic Hall of Fame Class. Purdy (Childs) was a star multi-sport athlete in her high school career at Statesboro High.
Purdy is also a member of the Piedmont Athletic Hall of Fame following her career for the Lions in women’s basketball and softball. She was a four-year letterwinner in basketball and a two-year letter winner in softball.
She went on to have an illustrious coaching career for the Lions, posting 347 wins while at Piedmont, including six NCAA tournament appearances and six tournament championships across a pair of conferences.
