James Morris Free, age 75, of Baldwin, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at The Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Free was born on February 8, 1940 in Homer, Georgia to the late Everett and Margaret Carlan Free. He was a member of Crossroads Worship Center of Commerce, Georgia. He also served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve during The Vietnam Era. Mr. Free was a self-employed truck driver and then served as a school bus monitor with Banks County School System. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Coley Free, daughter, Penelope Sosebee, and uncle H.S. Carlan.
Survivors include wife, Clara Coley Free, of Baldwin; mother, Ruby Free, of Homer; children and spouses, Judy and Terry Lovell, of Mt. Airy, Michael and Lisa Free, of Alto, Gregory and Patricia Coley, of Baldwin, Timothy and Rebecca Coley, of Baldwin, Anthony Coley and Chris Burnett, of Gillsville; son, James Free, of Baldwin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Diane Free, of Homer, Dennis and Lynn Free, of Indonesia; 17 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Gary Thompson officiating .Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Timothy Coley, Rev. Gregory Coley, and Rev. Anthony Coley officiating, and with Military Honors provided by The Hall County Sheriff’s office.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Friday, May 29, 2015.
