Jack William Davidson

Jack William Davidson, age 83, of Lula, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

Born on September 6, 1940, in Alto, he was the son of the late William Gratt “Bill” Davidson and Mary Elizabeth Wiley Davidson. Jack worked at Barko Hydraulics and retired as a salesman from Pioneer Caterpillar, where he always strived to make his customers happy. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and the Old Friends Car Club. Jack was a family man who loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and enjoyed old cars, especially 55 Fords, and stock car racing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty Jane Haff Davidson, and sisters: Hazel Miller, Ruby White, Lois Stephens, Christine Masters, and Elise Wade.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Davidson (Jackie) of Alto and James Davidson (Kay) of Flowery Branch; grandchildren: Christine Garner (Clint), Stephanie Farina (John Michael), Will Davidson (Susanna), Marissa Davidson, Thor Smith (Hannah), Zack Smith, and Taylor Maynard (Mark); great-grandchildren: Emmie Garner, Willow Garner, Walker Vincent Farina, Archer Farina, and William Todd Davidson; sister, Juanita Wilbanks of Lula; sister-in-law, Sandra Couch (Mike); special family: Jorge Hernandez, Manuel Dominguez, and Oscar Arreola (Irene); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart, with Rev. Gary Wilson and Rev. Leon Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Adamson and Rev. Scott Collett officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, and from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday, both at the funeral home.

Per Jack’s wishes, all attendees with classic cars are to come to the funeral home for the procession to the cemetery for a final parade.
