Jack Charles “J.C.” Wilson, age 88, of Lula, entered heaven Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, surrounded by his family.
J.C. was born November 23, 1934, in Lula to the late Oliver B. & Elsie Baugh Wilson. He had many titles: husband, father, grandfather, brother & many, many more. He was a very giving & loving man, even if it meant giving the very shirt off of his back. He owned & operated Wilson Logging, Sawmill & Grading for 60-plus years. He loved to trout fish & always loved having a garden to supply family & friends produce from his labor. He had a heart of gold and touched many lives with his kind hands & loving heart. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bathel Wilson, Clifford Wilson & James Wilson.
Left to cherish precious memories, wife of 67 years, Willie Maude Wilson; sons, Jacky Wilson & wife Judy, Royce Wilson & wife, Jan; daughters, Dina Collins & husband, Julius, Debbie Thomas & husband, Kevin & Lisa McConnell; grandchildren, Jason Wilson & wife, Amanda, Ashley Jones & husband, Jody, Devin Collins & wife, Amber, Trent Collins & fiance’, Hayley Wilson, Matthew Thomas & wife, Amber, Macy Thomas & Fiance’ Peyton Allen, Morgan Rios & husband, Dario & grandson, Dalton Looney; great-grandchildren, Paislee Wilson, Kaylee Wilson, Sawyer Jones, Malaki Collins, Heyleigh Futch & Ian Thomas; brother, Hoyt Wilson; sisters, Nancy Browning, Darlene Seymour, JoAnn Jones & Clara Mae Chambers. A number of nieces, nephews & other relatives also survive.
Funeral services honoring J.C. will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Whitehall Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Lyle, Rev. Danny Oliver & Rev. Shane Turner officiating. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the funeral home.
