J.D. Farmer

J.D. Farmer, age 90 of Cleveland, GA, passed away October 8, 2020, at his residence following an extended illness.

Memorial services are scheduled for 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Hillside Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Private interment will be held at a later date in Hillside Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Farmer was born December 25, 1929, in Clermont, Georgia, and was the son of the late William “Bud” Farmer and the late Lillie White Farmer Standridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother William Farmer. Mr. Farmer was an Army National Guard Veteran and was retired from General Motors with 25 years of loyal service. Mr. Farmer was a Master Mason for over 60 years. He was a multi-talented man who enjoyed building furniture, woodworking, and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of over 65 years Cornelia Johnson Farmer of Cleveland, his children Tracie (David) Scott of Smoke Rise, Casey (Missy) Farmer of Snellville and Stacy (Kim) of Mt. Airy, grandchildren; Margaret Scott, William Scott, Patrick Scott, Tyler Farmer and Ashley Farmer, sisters; Fannie Lou Head of Dahlonega and Vera (Willis) Standridge Garrett of Gillsville, also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews and a special niece, Mary Ann Farmer.
