Habersham County commissioners recognized two public works employees during the Employee Spotlight portion of Monday night’s commission meeting.

County public works director Jerry Baggett recognized Kevin Ivester and Jay Mull for their hard work and dedication to the Habersham County Road Department. Both men recently began assisting in acquiring and servicing road department equipment. They both have knowledge and experience working with heavy equipment and have had an immediate and positive impact within the department, Baggett said.

Ivester and Mull have upgraded and repaired department trucks and heavy equipment, saving the department and county approximately $90,000.

“Assertive and qualified employees such as Kevin and Jay are essential to the department’s success and cost savings initiatives,” said Baggett. “We are very fortunate to have people of their caliber.”

Habersham County Commission Chair Ty Akins gave the two employees a framed certificate and gift card.
