It’s primary runoff election day; polls open ’til 7 p.m.

Voters in 94 counties across Georgia are going to the polls today to cast what should be the final ballots in the state’s party primaries. In Habersham, there are six races on the ballot.

Republican candidates for Habersham County Commissioner Districts 1 and 4, District 10 State Representative, and District 50 State Senate are in the runoff along with Republican and Democratic candidates for 9th District Congress.

Just over 16% of Habersham County’s active registered voters cast ballots ahead of today’s election through early/advance and absentee voting.

Polls opened at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m. today (August 11). Absentee voters have until the polls close Tuesday to get their ballots in to be counted.
