Today I was searching for just the right word. I wanted to write something to motivate, challenge, reverse negativity, and make nowhabersham readers start the day on a positive note. This phrase kept popping up on my computer screen. Because I am so afraid of computer viruses, I ignored its content. At first I would just close it and keep searching, but, after a few attempts, I finally read the words, “It’s never too late to start over. If you weren’t happy with yesterday, try something different today.”
Lamentations 3:22-24, “‘The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. The LORD is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I have hope in Him.'”…
This scripture came to mind. We spend a great deal of time looking at our failures and wondering where we went wrong. “If I had just done this… if I had just married someone else… if I had studied harder, chosen another career path, moved to a different place… if I had just…”
“If” is one of those words that interferes with life. It makes us question who we are and what we could be. The reality is, we can change the outcome simply by changing what we did yesterday and doing it differently today.
A friend once told me, “If I could just go back, I’d do it all so differently.”
After some thought, my response to her was, “Why go back? Start doing it differently now. See what the outcome is.”
Maybe that little pop-up, popped up for a reason. If you were unhappy with yesterday, make today different.
Today start doing what you’d do if you had it all to do over again. It’s never too late and now’s never been a better time to start.
