The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a convenience store armed robbery that happened in the East Hall County area Thursday night, January 19.
Deputies responded to a 911 call at approximately 8 p.m. from Don Mangum Grocery at 3742 Harmony Church Road. According to the initial investigation, the male suspect entered the store, approached the counter, produced a handgun and demanded money. He ran out of the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, officials say.
No one was injured.
A sheriff’s office K9 team responded and tracked the suspect’s scent to a nearby road, where the track ended. Investigators believe a getaway vehicle was waiting there for the robber, officials say.
The suspect is described only as six feet tall. He was dressed in all black and wearing a black mask during the crime.
This marks the third time in less than a month that a Hall County convenience store has been robbed.
Investigators are still searching for suspects in the December 22 robbery at East Hall Food Mart on Old Cornelia Highway and the December 28 hold-up at Stop By Food Mart #2 on U.S. 129/Cleveland Highway.
Investigators do not believe the January 19 robbery is connected to those crimes, says Hall County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Derreck Booth.
Anyone who may have witnessed the man get into a vehicle and leave the area Thursday night or who has additional information about the robbery is urged to contact Investigator Matthews at (770) 533-7683 or [email protected].
