Investigators charge jailed man with more child pornography-related offenses

Austin Michael Pope (Hall County Sheriff's Office)

Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained additional arrest warrants for an Oakwood man on Monday, April 24, bringing to six the number of counts he faces for sexual exploitation of a minor.

Austin Michael Pope, 21, of Oakwood, was served at the Hall County Jail, where he has been held since his April 11 arrest for the initial two counts.

The latest warrants for four counts of the crime are the result of a new cybertip HCSO and Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on Monday, officials say.

According to the latest charges, on Dec. 11, 2022, Pope possessed and distributed two videos of children being sexually abused by adults through his Snapchat account.

Pope remains in jail without bond. The case remains under investigation.
