BOYS
When #5-ranked Tallulah Falls squared off with #4-ranked Oglethorpe County on Friday night on the road, there was more than bragging rights on the line in a marquee matchup. The Indians took a convincing 59-42 win to avenge their 1-point loss less than a week ago at home against the Patriots.
This time, TFS won 59-42, and built off their 24-16 halftime advantage on the way to the final horn. Both Anfernee Hanna and Vlad Popescu notched 14 points, as four players scored in double figures.
Diego Crotta added 12, and Lincoln Hall 10 in the win. TFS is now 8-2 overall, and play Saturday against Westminster Christian.
GIRLS
The Lady Indians took their seventh straight loss in a 61-47 loss at Oglethorpe County on Friday. It marked the second straight game and loss against Oglethorpe, though this time TFS held strong until the fourth quarter.
With a small number of players to utilize, TFS actually held a slim 21-19 lead at the break, and only trailed 45-39 going into the final period. From there, the home team outpaced Tallulah Falls 16-8 to claim the win.
Tanisha Seymour had a team-best 18 points, while Breelyn Wood scored 15, Denika Lightbourne 9, Allie Phasavang 3, and Molly Mitchell 2 points.
Tallulah Falls is now 2-8 on the season, and play again on Saturday at Westminster Christian.
JV BOYS
Meanwhile, the JV Indians won an overtime thriller against Oglethorpe, 49-46.
The team was balanced in its offensive attack, as six players got in on the action. Hayden Bootle led with 18 points, and was followed by the trio of Wyatt Franks, Timothy Bain, and Jay Taylor, who all scored 7 points. Teryk Tilley had 6 points and Tiggy Allen had 3.
The JV team is now 7-0 on the season.
