Indians, Lady Indians snap losing streaks with region wins over Elbert

GIRLS

The Lady Indians earned a 42-39 home win Thursday against Elbert County to snap a 5-game losing skid.

TFS overcame a significant deficit, trailing 20-8 after the first. A big second quarter got Tallulah within 25-20 at the half. In each of the last three quarters, the TFS defense held Elbert to fewer than 10 points.

Breelyn Wood had a phenomenal game with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Allie Phasavang had eight points, six rebounds, and four steals. Molly Mitchell and Haygen James both had six points. Millie Holcomb had five points and Adrijana Albijanic had two.

The girls are now 7-10 overall and 1-3 with their first region win.

BOYS

The Indians had a season-high in points with a 75-47 win at home Thursday against Elbert County, ending a 5-game losing streak in the process.

It was a career night for several players, as Judah McIntosh had a career-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers.

TFS was up 15-2 early on, and led 31-18 at the break. Hayden Bootle and Zakhar Valasiuk each had 15 points, with the latter draining three triples. Brian Neely had 10 points, Neyo Bain seven, Todor Stanimirovic five, and Sam Ketch three.

The Indians advance to 5-16 and are now 1-3 in region play.

The JV Indians also took a win, 55-50 against Elbert. Ivo Dorkovic led with 16 points and Stanimirovic had 15. Jovan Pavlicic added 12, Armando Landecho Cedeno six, and Marquis Rolle chipped in with three.

The JV team is 7-4 overall.
