Tallulah Falls split a Saturday double-header at home, falling first to Rabun Gap in a 12-2 decision before rebounding with a 3-1 win against Athens Academy.

In the opener, Rabun Gap scored in the first and five times in the second to take a big 6-0 lead. A pair of third-inning runs pushed it to 8-0 before TFS responded in the fifth with a couple of runs on a 2-run single by Rohajae Pinder. Rabun Gap scored four more to finish the 12-2 win.

Tallulah Falls racked up 5 hits, with Frankie Moree tallying 2 hits and a run scored. Pinder took the loss on the mound.

The Indians rebounded with a solid 3-1 win over Athens Academy. TFS scored a single run in the third, fourth, and fifth inning, while the pitching and defense played well to secure the win.

In a scoreless game, BJ Carver reached on an error that plated Davante Brown for the go-ahead run. Caden Walker raced home after an error coming after a stolen base in the fourth, making it a 2-0 lead. Athens Academy struck back to cut the lead in half with a run in the sixth, but the Indians came right back with one of their own when Carver drove in Brown on an infield single.

Cole Bonitatibus nearly pitched a complete game, going 6.2 innings and giving up one run while striking out 7 against 4 hits and 3 walks, picking up the win. Moree relieved Bonitatibus with 2 outs in the final inning with the tying run on base. He induced a fielder’s choice groundout to end the game and earn the save. Walker had 2 hits, as TFS combined for 6.

The Indians are now 2-1 on the season.
