The Tallulah Falls Indians are state-bound after a win in the opening round of the Region 8-A Private tournament over Loganville Christian secured their spot.

TFS won 57-38, snapping a rare 2-game losing skid. Anfernee Hanna led all scorers with 17 points, as the #9-ranked Indians are now guaranteed a spot in the GHSA 1A State Tournament. It marks the third straight season of making the playoffs, which is a first in program history.

TFS advances to take on the region’s #2 seed, Athens Christian, on Saturday at 5:30 PM at George Walton. The Indians split with Athens Christian this season, winning the first meeting but dropping the most recent just days ago. The Indians are now 18-4 overall on the season. The 18 wins matches last season’s win total, and is the most since a 24-win campaign in 2016-17.
