Idell Moore Byers, age 95 of Doulgasville and formerly of Demorest, passed away November 12, 2016, at her residence.
Born in Turnerville, Georgia on March 14, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Emma Shirley Moore. Mrs. Byers was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In her early years, she enjoyed shopping and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis Charles Byers; son, Steve Roy Byers; daughter, Carol Vaughn; sons-in-law, Jim Wright and Ned Vaughn; and several brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn & Leon Tomlin of Cleveland, Tammy & Ricky Freeman of Rockmart, Janice & Bubba Colbert of Cedar Bluff, AL, and Enzull & Gary Coffey of Temple; daughter, Mary Wright of Carrolton; son, George Byers of Douglasville; she was also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren that were over 100 in number combined and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Pastor Chris Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Monday.
