Habersham County students, parents, residents and church leaders gathered Wednesday at Raider Stadium for a faith rally. The annual event called ‘Fields of Faith’ was sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
It was one of hundreds of similar events held at high schools across the United States and in South Korea.
Level Grove Baptist Church pastor Dr. Brian James delivered the message and the Level Grove Praise Band led singing during the hour long service.

How it started
Fields of Faith is designed to be a student led event. Students invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ, according to the FCA website. It started in 2002 when Oklahoma FCA Area Director Jeff Martin, troubled by the temptations facing young people, was inspired by the story of King Josiah in the Bible. Josiah was an influential teenager who gathered his people and challenged them to read God’s Word.
The first Fields of Faith events were held in 2004 on school athletic fields across the midwest. The annual event has been held in Habersham for at least the past five years.
