Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee will be the guest speaker at this year’s Faith and Freedom Celebration at Truett McConnell University. The university will host the second annual event on Saturday, April 6.
Huckabee is an ordained Southern Baptist minister. He wrote several best-selling books. He’s a public speaker and a political commentator on “The Huckabee Report.”
Huckabee ran for the Republican nomination in the 2008 and 2016 presidential elections. He eventually became one of President Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters. His daughter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, currently serves as White House Press Secretary.
The Faith and Freedom Celebration will take place in the George Blaurock Student Wellness Center on the TMU campus in Cleveland.
Fox News Commentator Todd Starnes will emcee the event. Gospel artist Jake Cowley will perform.
Proceeds from the event will help pay for student mission trips and scholarships. The university will also use the money to help reduce student debt for alumni currently serving on the mission field.
Tickets are now on sale. Bleacher seats are $25. Table seats with dinner are $250. Dinner tables of eight may be reserved for $2,000.
The dinner begins at 5:15 p.m., followed by the program and a book signing.
