The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a residential fire in South Hall County. The fire broke out around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 4300 block of Martin Road.
Hall County E-911 dispatched Hall County Fire and Rescue to a report of a camper fire. When they arrived, they found that the reported ‘camper’ was fully involved and the fire had spread to a neighboring home.
“After firefighters extinguished the flames, they determined it was an outbuilding on the property, not a camper,” says Hall County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Christie Grice. “The outbuilding fire ignited the home, and fire quickly spread to the attic.”
The fire also damaged a vehicle in the driveway.
Grice says no one was at home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was called to assist the four adults and one child who lived at the residence.
