(Gainesville, GA) – Local direct mortgage lender, Homestar Financial Corporation, was recently awarded the “Outstanding Georgia Business” title by Secretary of State Brian Kemp and State Representative Terry Rogers at the state capitol on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Homestar President Wes Hunt was accompanied by division managers Wendell Couch, Gustavo Lobo, Jeff Waggoner and Rick Whiting to accept the award from Kemp and Rogers.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized in such a capacity,” said Hunt, on receiving the award. “It gave me a sense of accomplishment for the company – not just for myself, but for everyone who has helped build Homestar to make it what is today.”

In addition to these recognitions, Gainesville-based Homestar, which has been in operation since April 2002, was recently voted Best of North Georgia 2016 as “Best Mortgage and Home Loan Provider” by the readers of The Times of Gainesville.
