DANVILLE, Ky. – Led once again by seniors Mariann Kennison and Hannah Hoban, the Piedmont College softball team swept a road doubleheader from Centre on Sunday afternoon in Kentucky.
Trailing 5-3 in the top of the seventh, Hoban delivered the go-ahead grand slam to lift the Lady Lions (18-5) past Centre, 8-5, in game one. Then, in game two, Piedmont scored a pair of runs in the first and third innings before breaking the game open in the sixth on Hoban’s second grand slam to win the contest, 9-1, in six innings.
Up next, the Lady Lions will have three days off before returning to USA South action for a doubleheader at Wesleyan this Thursday, March 28 starting at 2 p.m.
