(Cleveland)- White County officials have released few details about the discovery of a body at the base of Yonah Mountain Monday night. The incident was reported around 8:45 PM. Rescue units and the Sheriff’s Office were notified and responded.

White County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Captain Tim Chapman issued a statement Tuesday morning saying hikers discovered a deceased white female that had apparently fallen. Chapman also said the case is still under investigation.

Chapman advised positive identification of the victim is pending.

White County Deputy Corner Jim Ethridge said they did find some identification about the person but he did not release the name or further information.

White County Sheriff Neal Walden advised late Tuesday that positive identification of the body can not be made until an autopsy is performed, which is scheduled for Wednesday.
