A wreck on GA 15/U.S. 441 at Antioch Church Road Monday morning sent three people to the hospital.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Kellie Turley, 51, of Sautee Nacoochee was traveling east on Antioch in a Pontiac Vibe when she failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign. Turley’s vehicle ran into the path of a northbound Kia Soul driven by 66-year-old Michelle Norfleet of Franklin, North Carolina.

Norfleet swerved to avoid a collision, but the front of her vehicle struck the Pontiac. The impact forced the Kia to travel off the roadway, where it struck a stop sign and then a yield sign. The car came to an uncontrolled rest on the roadside. The Vibe came to an uncontrolled rest in the middle of GA 15/U.S. 441.

Habersham EMS transported Turley, Norfleet, and a passenger in Norfleet’s car, Tammy Oates, 61, to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for evaluation and treatment.

Troopers charged Turley with failure to yield.

The wreck happened around 11:13 a.m. and temporarily shut down both lanes of the highway near the wreck site. The highway has since reopened.
