Hero Festival to honor local first responders and veterans

The Grant-Reeves VFW Post 7720 in Cornelia will host its inaugural Hero Festival on Saturday, August 17. This free community event aims to honor all local first responders and veterans.

The opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the VFW Veteran Center in the Cornelia Crossing Shopping Center off Highway 441/Baldwin Bypass. The festival is scheduled to last until 3 p.m.

The Hero Festival will feature a cruise-in with public safety and military vehicles and equipment on display. There will also be live music, food, bouncy houses, face painting, and a magic show.

Parking will be available in the United Community Bank parking lot across the street from the Veteran Center.
