HEMC to hold Member Dialogue Session Tuesday

Habersham Electric Membership Corporation will hold its second in a series of Member Dialogue Sessions on Tuesday, March 6. The session is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. in the community room at HEMC headquarters on Highway 115 in Clarkesville.

Q&A and Demos

During the first half of the meeting, HEMC employees will answer members’ questions and give demonstrations. Topics will include:

  • A step-by-step visual of power restoration
  • Vegetation management and the ground-to-sky initiative
  • An electrical “Power Town” safety demonstration for children and adults
  • Equipment and devices used to increase reliability
  • Lineman discussion and an up-close observation of essential trucks and large equipment
  • Energy efficiency programs and services
  • Community outreach
  • Annual meeting, election process and board districts

HEMC CEO Brad Hicks will lead a group discussion during the second half of the meeting. Members will have an opportunity to interact with leadership and get an update on HEMC’s strategic plan.

HEMC is a member-owned cooperative serving 34,000 meters in Habersham, Hall, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens and White counties.
