(Clarkesville)- Habersham EMC advised that approximately 70 members took advantage of the opportunity to have one-on-one discussions with the HEMC Board of Directors, executive staff and employees during the first  Member Dialogue Session held Thursday  in Clarkesville.

In a news release Rick Wood, Chairman of HEMC Board of Directors stated, “The purpose of this session is to hear from all members. Some have already shared ideas, concerns and suggestions. We want to hear more.”

HEMC employees and directors visited with members at tables throughout the room. Each table featured a topic regarding HEMC business, such as: Trailwave fiber optic service, PowerGuard Security, power restoration, tree trimming, safety, energy efficiency, rates, billing and cooperative governance.

Also during the evening members were able to view a PowerPoint displayed of images from Tropical Storm Irma’s destruction,  as taken by HEMC crews, as well as examples of the kindness shown by members during the restoration efforts.

HEMC employees Portia Hill and Chris Martin discuss energy efficiency with members during Thursday’s Member Dialogue Session.

Wood said, “We were pleased with the turnout. There have been some very good discussions and we appreciate the fact that our members care about cooperative business. Once the new CEO, Brad Hicks, gets here and settled in we’ll evaluate the frequency of these sessions,” adds Wood.
