Habersham Electric Membership Corporation (HEMC) celebrates seven years without lost-time accidents. The electric cooperative says this achievement underscores its commitment to prioritizing safety across all departments, from linemen to member services.

“Our employees take pride in their jobs, regardless of their duties, knowing our members and communities rely on our services,” said Jason Rothell, HEMC’s Manager of Safety and Loss Control. He emphasized the importance of this accomplishment, stating, “We are extremely proud of the HEMC team and each employee’s commitment to performing their duties with safety being of the utmost importance.”

Habersham EMC issued a news release celebrating the milestone. It says its dedication to safety extends beyond the goal of an injury-free workplace.

“The co-op nurtures an environment where concern for employee’s health, safety, and welfare extends beyond the walls of the office and job sites into the community,” the release states.

A spokesperson says the local co-op looks forward to seeing the number of accident-free days “continue to climb.”
