HEMC board officially names Cantrell President/CEO

Clarkesville, GA – The Habersham EMC Board of Directors announced Tuesday the permanent appointment of Jonathan Cantrell as President and CEO of the cooperative on the heels of his interim managerial status active since late September.

HEMC Board Chairman Hugh Rucker said, “We have been very impressed by Jonathan’s dedication and technical knowledge over the years.  We know he is a hard worker and a good man that is committed to the HEMC members, employees and community.  We are very pleased that he has accepted this position.”

Cantrell formerly held the position of Information Technology Manager at Habersham EMC.  He is a graduate of Piedmont College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and worked at Standard Telephone before joining HEMC. He has been with the cooperative for 13 years, beginning his career in the Information Technology Department.  Jonathan and his wife, Martha, live in Habersham County and attend Ebenezer United Methodist Church.  They have three children and one grandchild.
