(Cleveland)- A Helen woman has been charged with failure to yield right of way and homicide by vehicle in 2nd degree. The charges stem from a two vehicle accident that occurred August 6th on Highway 129 South of Cleveland near the Hall County line.
Captain Rick Kelley with the White Sheriff’s office in an email statement said the accident involved a car and motorcycle.
According to the Sheriff’s Department accident report 64-year old Nancy Tafel of Helen was driving a 2009 Toyota Pris south on Highway 129, stopped to turn left, failed to yield and turned into the path of the motorcycle operated by 71- year old Min Kim of Lawrenceville.
The driver of the motorcycle as well as Tafel and a passenger in her vehicle were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
According to Kelley on August 27th the driver of the motorcycle Kim died of his injuries.
