Helen to Hardman Heritage Trail to reopen Memorial Day weekend

Storms damaged it. Now, after months of rebuilding and repairs, the Helen to Hardman Heritage Trail is set to reopen to the public. The trail is schedule to reopen on Saturday, May 25.

The mile-long paved trail runs north and south along the Chattahoochee River. It connects the City of Helen with the Hardman Farm State Historic Site on Highway 17.

The trail provides an interactive experience with videos, information boards, viewing decks, and activities posted alongside it. Parking is located at both ends of the trail.

The trail closes at dusk and is closed to vehicle traffic. Wheelchairs and motorized scooters are allowed. The trail is also pet friendly.
