If you’re planning a romantic weekend getaway this fall, you might want to check out Helen, Georgia. The matchmaking website MyDatingAdviser.com included the Alpine-themed village on its list of the 170 Coziest Small Towns in America.
The site compared small towns across the country based on weather, food, and activities. In addition, they looked at data points like winter temperature, average snowfall, cafes, bakeries, crafts, and bookshops, among other indicators of a ‘cozy’ town.
Helen ranks 48th on the list and is one of only five towns in Georgia to make the cut. Other ‘small cozy towns’ in the state include Augusta (78th), Santa Claus (132nd), Dahlonega (142nd), and Jekyll Island (149th).
According to MyDatingAdviser.com, the nation’s coziest town is Stockholm, Wisconsin. Stowe, Vermont; Stanley, Idaho; Ellicottville, New York; and Breckenridge, Colorado round out the top 5.
