Helen Gibson Bryson

Helen Gibson Bryson, age 90, of Cornelia Ga, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.

Mrs. Bryson was born in Franklin, NC, on October 10. 1928, to the late Samuel Hubert Gibson and Fannie Byers Liner Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband of 68 years, Hoyt B. Bryson, brother, Sam Gibson, Jr., and grandson, Jonathan Lee Duncan.

Mrs. Bryson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia where she served as a deacon. Other church activities and leadership roles included: member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, Missions Director, WMU Director for 23 years, Director of Round Table, started the Operations Christmas Child in Habersham County, project coordinator for Camp Pinnacle, and member of the Habersham Baptist Association WMU Council.

She was a piano teacher and was co-owner and bookkeeper of Bryson Auto Parts.

Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Wayne Worsham, Miriam and Joey Duncan, and Rebecca and Tim Buttram; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Keith G. and Ruth Bryson, and son, Kim Bryson; grandchildren: Jeff and Katie English, John English, Kevin and Bev Worsham, Michael and Brandy Worsham, Tracy Worsham, Melissa and Mickey Carroll, Adrien Buttram; great-grandchildren: Sara Grace English, Maggie and Kate English, Alivia and Brinley Worsham, Breelyn, Maddox, Nolan, and Westin Carroll.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the First Baptist Church of Cornelia, with the Rev. Steve Doran and Rev. David Turner offficiating.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:45 am in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church prior to the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cornelia Missions Fund, P. O. Box 96, Cornelia, GA 30531.
