They’ve done it again! For the second time in five years the Habersham Central Raiders have been named the High 5 Sports Team of the Week.
Fox Five News in Atlanta posted this notice to Facebook just moments after online voting ended at 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
“They beat rival Stephens County for the first time in 23 years. That (and the fact that they’re good) won the Raiders Team of the Week honors for Week 5! Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken FOX 5 will see you Thursday morning in Mt. Airy for an epic pep rally!”
The Raiders were up against the M.L. King Lions, North Oconee Titans, North Paulding Wolfpack, and Union County Panthers for the honor.
Habersham Central last won the High 5 Sports TOW trophy in 2014 after the Raiders snapped a two-year losing streak with a Halloween win over North Forsyth.
