Habersham Central High School thrilled students and parents this week with the announcement that the school will return to a normal graduation schedule in May.
Last year, graduation was delayed several months by the pandemic. This year, it is set to return to the last day of school, May 21.
In a post to the school’s Facebook page, administrators announced Raider Stadium will be open for all family and friends to attend. Last year, the crowd size was limited due to social distancing.
The graduation ceremony will begin at 8 p.m. and will be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend.
“I look forward to awarding a diploma to each deserving senior and celebrating this academic milestone with them and their families,” says HCHS Principal Jonathan Stribling.
Earlier this week, Gov. Brian Kemp announced he is lifting the state’s ban on public gatherings effective April 8.
