HCHS Basketball Hall of Fame inductees

The Habersham Central Basketball Hall of Fame will induct three new members this Saturday. The Class of 2014-15 inductees are Sharea Harrison Duncan, J.T. Ivie, and David Foster.

Duncan is the assistant women’s basketball coach at Piedmont College. Prior to joining the Green and Gold, she spent six years at Habersham Central High School – two as an assistant varsity coach and four years as head JV coach. She racked up an impressive 54-9 record as the leader of the Lady Raiders. Duncan is a 1997 graduate of Habersham Central High. She’s one of a handful of 1,000 point scorers who donned the Blue and Orange and scored her career total in just three seasons with the program.

Ivie graduated from Habersham Central in 2001. According to his online bio he averaged 11.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.1 blocked shots during his senior season at Central. Ivie earned honorable mention all-state accolades and was named to the all-area team for northeastern Georgia his senior season. After graduating from HCHS he went on to play Center at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.

David Foster is a 1982 graduate of Habersham Central. He was a multi-sport athlete who went on to become a multi-sport radio announcer. Foster is the voice of the Raiders on WCON in Cornelia. He also serves as the Community and Government Affairs program manager for Habersham Electric Membership Corporation.

The induction ceremony will take place between the varsity girls and varsity boys games against North Forsyth on December 13.

A reception will follow at 2 p.m. in the HCHS staff development room. The public is invited to attend.
