Dan Hayes is the new mayor of Tallulah Falls. Hayes beat out long-time incumbent Carl Seaman for the job. Hayes received 49 votes to Seaman’s 34.
Teri Dobbs edged out incumbent councilman Jimmy Franklin by the slimmest possible margin to claim one of two seats on the Tallulah Falls town council. Dobbs took 48 votes to Franklin’s 47. Incumbent councilman Bill Coldren was the overall top vote getter of the night in Tallulah Falls, receiving 51 votes on his way to re-election.
Town Administrator Marcia McKean says 84 of the town’s 139 registered voters cast ballots in Tuesday’s election. That’s a 60% turnout. McKean says she’s very pleased with the turnout and adds, “That’s the most ever in my 17 years.”
