Recent drug bust tied to ongoing gang investigation; 4 others arrested

Recent searches in Hart County that led to the seizure of approximately $100,000 in marijuana and cash and a $100,000 car were the direct result of an ongoing gang investigation, Sheriff Mike Cleveland says.

According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, eighteen violent gang members were indicted on 64 counts, including multiple felony gang statute violations. Several of the alleged gang members were also indicted for criminal attempt to commit murder.

“The seizure of the marijuana was done while executing a search warrant in an attempt to locate one of the indicted gang members,” says Sheriff Cleveland.

Cleveland announced that four other people were arrested on January 17, the same day investigators arrested Diamond Alilse Scott, 21, and Bryson De’Mone Jordan, Jr., 25, on drug and weapons charges.

Others arrested include Treaton Shoemaker, 21, Thomeatrius Waller, 22, Christavious N. Feaster, 26, and Rontravius I. Sadler, 21.

As part of their ongoing investigation, authorities raided two locations in Hart County on January 17 and 18. They seized more than 40 pounds of “high quality” marijuana, two semi-automatic weapons, and more than $11,000 in cash, Cleveland says. Deputies also seized a Jail Break Hell Cat Dodge Charger.

GBI agents from the Region 11 Field Office, Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, and Gang Task Force, as well as Hartwell police, were involved with the operation.
