The Hart County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning following an argument at a home southwest of Hartwell.
Just before 1 a.m. on June 20, Hart County 911 received a report that a man had been shot multiple times and was being rushed to the hospital in a private vehicle. Deputies responded to the hospital and the scene of the shooting on Sunset Road, said Hart County Sheriff Chris Carroll.
When law enforcement arrived at the location, Carroll said they found several individuals still present. Witnesses told deputies that an argument broke out shortly before shots were fired. Investigators say multiple people fled the scene before officers arrived.
According to Carroll, the male victim is in stable condition and is expected to recover. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The case remains under active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hart County Sheriff’s Office at 706-376-3114.
