The Hall County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy is taking registration for its upcoming classes. This is a four-week session beginning Tuesday, September 17, and continues each Tuesday evening until October 8.

Each Tuesday night from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. citizens of Hall County will have an opportunity to tour the Hall County Court House and learn about the different divisions. Other areas of interest are the administrative building and the Hall County Jail.

There is no cost for attending the academy. Class sizes are usually around 20 people. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office has been doing this for over 20 years for its citizens. Registration deadline is August 30th. It is important to note that each attendee must pass a background check to participate.

“The Citizens Academy is one of the best ways for folks in our community to get an up-close and personal look at the way our agency operates,” said Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch. “Participants will hear presentations from Sheriff’s Office leadership, but they also have the chance to tour our facilities and see what happens behind the scenes. Because we share a meal each week and there’s ample opportunity for questions, the sessions are also great relationship builders between citizens and law enforcement.”

To register, please contact Sandy Garrett at the Hall County Sheriff’s Office at [email protected] or call 770-531-6900.
