Hall County School students will return to an in-person hybrid schedule starting Monday, Jan. 19.
Superintendent of Schools Will Schofield announced Thursday that staff COVID numbers have stabilized and student numbers have also decreased significantly. In addition, the system’s contact-tracing activity (an indicator of future school district spread) is down dramatically, he said.
Most students at all schools will attend classes on alternating days January 19 – 22. All in-person self-contained special education students and dual enrollment students will attend every day.
The district will closely monitor COVID numbers and spread and make a decision by the end of business on Thursday, January 21 regarding the following week’s plan.
“This plan for in-person learning allows teachers to connect with students, assess student progress, and provide in-person feedback to all learners. Additionally, it will allow HCSD to gather accurate student COVID numbers in a socially distanced environment,” Schofield said.
A number of area school systems are still engaged in online learning due to the post-holiday surge in COVID-19 cass.
