Hall County investigators seek community assistance in armed robbery

Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators hope the community can help identify three male suspects who robbed two men in East Hall County late last year.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Derreck Booth provided a limited update on Monday, February 3 about the case. “We are still looking for the suspects,” Booth said. “However, there are no updates to the case.”

According to a HCSO social media post, the armed robbery occurred on Saturday, December 20, at approximately 5:30 p.m. HCSO deputies responded to a call about an alleged shooting outside of Don Mangum Grocery at 3746 Harmony Church Road.

The victims were supposed to meet with the suspects in the parking lot for a pre-arranged transaction to sell them two phones. The suspects arrived in a red Honda Accord and robbed the two victims, who remained in their vehicle. Booth clarified that the pre-arranged transaction was set up through social media.

According to HCSO, two of the suspects were armed, one with a shotgun and another with a hatchet. The individual with the shotgun fired it toward the road during the robbery. The suspect with the hatchet swung it at one of the victims, causing a small cut to the victim’s hand.

Following the crime, the three suspects ran back to their car and left the area. No other injuries were reported.

HCSO investigators are asking that anyone with video of the crime, information on the identity of the suspects, or information on their whereabouts to contact Investigator Buffington at (678) 630-9773.
