Hall County Fire Rescue responds to house fire

Hall County Fire Rescue personnel responded to a structure fire at around 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The fire was located at the 3000 block of Lake Ranch Drive in Gainesville. Initial reports were for a roof fire.

According to Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger, the first arriving engine crew discovered heavy fire coming from the attic of the residence.

Aerial operations were utilized to attack the fire on the roof, partially knocking down the flames. Crews continued their efforts on the exterior of the structure until the fire was knocked down.

As of 11:00 a.m., HCFR personnel were still on the scene ensuring that all remaining hot spots are extinguished.

Unfortunately, the structure was deemed to be a total loss.

No injuries were reported at the scene and the primary search of the structure was all clear.

The American Red Cross has been notified to assist three adults and two pets that have been displaced due to the fire.

Ledsinger states that the cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
