The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what caused two sheds to catch fire in two locations early Monday morning. One of the fires spread to a mobile home, forcing out the residents inside.

The first call went out shortly after midnight. Hall County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a shed fire in the 3500 block of Casper Drive in North Hall County. Arriving crews found a 12×12-storage building fully involved. A single-wide mobile home adjacent to the storage building ignited from the heat.

“Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the exterior wall of the mobile home,” says Hall County EMS Chief and Fire Public Information Officer Christie Grice.

According to Grice, no one was injured. The American Red Cross is assisting the five adults displaced by the fire. Crews cleared the scene around 2:35 a.m.

Just three hours later, firefighters were dispatched to the scene of another shed fire behind a residence in the 2100 block of Green Crest Drive in Gainesville.

The first units to arrive found heavy smoke and fire coming out of a storage shed. The fire was quickly controlled and extinguished. There were also no injuries in that fire, Grice says.
